Professor Michele Olivier

Senior Visiting Researcher

I joined the Law Faculty of the University of Pretoria in South Africa in1999. Before that I was an international law adviser to the South African Department of Foreign Affairs (1989-1999). After moving to the UK, I am still associated with the University of Pretoria as an extraordinary professor at the Unit for Advanced Studies.

Scholarly and Research Interests

My research is in the fields of international law and political science. My current interests are international governance, African integration and democratisation and the domestic compliance with international law standards.

Teaching

My teaching interests lie in international law, international human rights law and governance in African including peer review and integration.
