I completed my LLB at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, before winning the KwaZulu-Natal Rhodes Scholarship which took me to the University of Oxford. There I read for a Bachelor of Civil Law as well as an MPhil.

I went on to complete a DPhil on the equality and socio-economic rights jurisprudence of the South African Constitutional Court.

I have been a lecturer at the University of Leeds since 2005.

I am a visiting lecturer at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and the Law Institute in Jersey.

Scholarly and Research Interests

My research areas are administrative law, constitutional law, human rights law - I am particularly interested in exploring these from a comparative perspective - and legal theory.

Teaching

I teach Constitutional Law, English Legal System, Jurisprudence and Legal Skills. I also coordinate the Constitutional Law module.

PhD Supervision

I am interested in supervising PhD students in the areas of administrative law, constitutional law, human rights law and legal theory.
