“What Is Tax Avoidance? Tax Mitigation? What Is The Difference?”

Mr Dominic Adams was a partner in the Tax department at S J Berwin LLP, from 1994 until he retired in April 2011 and is now Senior Tax Counsel for Proskauer Rose LLP. As a practitioner specialising in taxation law, Dominic Adams will be speaking about some of the main tax rules and concepts that affect business activities in the UK.

This is part of the public lecture series organised by the Centre for Business Law and Practice, in the School of Law, University of Leeds. These events attract postgraduates, both research and taught, undergraduates, staff and local practitioners and are designed for anyone interested in commercial law issues.

As a taxation expert, Dominic Adams will be speaking about some of the main tax rules and concepts that affect business activities in the UK. He will describe how tax law impacts on business transactions, the issue of tax planning and the sometimes fine line between tax mitigation and tax avoidance
