Corruption in the Business Sector - Law and Reality
Peter Van Veen is the managing director of training and advisory services of Transparency International UK. He has 20 years’ experience in advising companies and has worked for such diverse organisations as The Economist Group, Royal Dutch Shell, Accenture, SRI International, Bertelsmann and SABMiller. He has consulted and spoken extensively on strategic risk management, corporate governance, business ethics and corruption.
He will talk about the real life experience in fighting against commercial corruption and the functioning of NGOs, in particular Transparency International. The presentation will last for 30-45 minutes, followed by Q&A and discussion. If you are interested in the law and practice against commercial corruption, or you are interested in the work of international organisations or NGOs, please come along.

The Liberty Building is number 16 on the campus map, and is situated on the corner of Moorland Road and Belle Vue Road on the Western Campus of the University of Leeds. It is situated behind the Maurice Keyworth Building (Business School).
From Leeds train station, it is a 30 minute walk or you can take a taxi for around £5.00. Alternatively, the number 56 bus runs from Albion Street via Woodhouse Lane (A660) and stops on Moorland Road. These run every 10 minutes.
If travelling by car, there is a visitors' car park at the south end of the University campus or there is limited four-hour street parking on Belle Vue Road immediately behind the Liberty Building.
