M&S: Intellectual Property in Business Situations

The event will consist of an hour's talk and a one hour workshop which will allow students to fully emerse themselves in the content being discussed.

The talk will include:

  • A brief introduction to intellectual property rights
  • How to protect your intellectual property rights and ensure that your products do not infringe someone else's rights

  • What happens when disputes arise

  • Examples of recent disputes where fashion brands have appeared in court

  • The future developments of intellectual property rights.

The talk will be followed by a workshop where you will be able to critique a case study. This will give you the opportunity to put into practice what you have learnt from the talk.

Although attendees who haven't booked are welcome, prority will be given to those who have due to restricted capacity.
