N8 Policing Innovation Forum, Cybercrime – Doing Things Differently with Less
The N8 Policing Research Partnership is collaboration between the eight most research intensive universities in the North of England, the police and other partner agencies. To drive innovation and research in key crime areas the N8 PRP will host an annual Innovation Forum, this being the first. More information about the N8 PRP can be found here: www.n8prp.org.uk
The N8 PRP is due to host its first forum on 14th October 2015, this will follow a dinner and address on the evening of the 13th which guests are also welcome to attend.
The main purpose of the Policing Innovation Forum is:
To constitute a dynamic ‘engine’ of innovation at the heart of the overall project that regularly spawns new synergies, identifies novel research, stimulates knowledge exchange and drives innovation. Key policing partners and wider stakeholders will be central to the design and operation of the forum which will generate ideas that feed into the Research Activity Strand of the N8 PRP.
The focus of this first forum will be that of Cybercrime. Cybercrime is one of the most significant threats to the UK and it is thus timely to consider how collaboration between academics and practitioners can help in building the capacity of the police and partner agencies in responding to these threats through collective efforts.
We would welcome academics and practitioners from all areas of policing and policing research with an interest in the theme of cybercrime. As police forces face unprecedented changes, this event is a unique opportunity to be part of the solution to ‘Doing things differently with less’.
