LG.06 University of Leeds

The ‘Issues in Modern Society’ conference will see post graduate research students from Leeds, Sheffield and York Universities give presentations on four themes linked to Legal and Socio-Legal issues. Panels will consist of speakers presenting on Conflict and Morality (Panel 1), Regulation of Society: Policies and Customs (Panel 2), Criminal Justice: Theory and Practice (Panel 3) and Marginalised Groups' Experiences of Law (Panel 4).  We are also delighted to welcome Professor Chris Ashford from the University of Northumbria as the keynote speaker for this event (see bio below). The conference aims to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for PGR students to present their work, and may be of benefit for students and researchers interested in understanding more about the issues to be discussed. It may also be of interest to students and researchers who have not yet presented and who wish to observe the presentation and panel process.

The conference is free, however registration is required via Eventbrite. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Full conference details including details of the papers being presented are available via Eventbrite.

We look forward to welcoming you to the School of Law at the University of Leeds for this exciting event.
