Centre for Law & Social Justice Annual Lecture: Embodied Gender/Sex Identity: What is it and how does it form?

16 May 2018 | 17:30 - 19:00 | Lecture
Moot Court, School of Law, University of Leeds

The Centre for Law & Social Justice is pleased to welcome Professor Anne Fausto Sterling (Brown University) to deliver its Annual Lecture 2018:

‘Embodied Gender/Sex Identity: What is it and how does it form?’

In the lecture Professor Fausto Sterling, an internationally renowned gender theorist, will introduce the term Gender/Sex Identity, arguing that Gender/Sex Identity is embodied and multidimensional.

Further, this identity is a dynamic process rather than a fixed state, and it emerges from probabilistic processes rather than being predetermined by either Sex (nature) or Gender (nurture).

A wine reception follows the lecture.
