Research finds use of technology for rape trial testimony does not influence jurors

10 December 2012 | Alex Greenwood

Research by Professor Lousie Ellison of the School of Law and Professor Vanessa Munro from the University of Nottingham has found that the use of courtroom technology for adult rape trial testimony had no consistent impact on jurors' decision-making.

The study examined the use of screens, live link technology and pre-recorded testimony to give evidence in rape trials, amidst concerns that such technology may affect the way jurors evaluate a complainant's evidence and credibility.
