4 December 2014 |

In Belfast, on 3 December, Dr Peter Whelan, an Associate Professor at the School of Law, delivered a guest lecture on his recent monograph on cartel criminalisation.

Dr Whelan’s lecture was entitled ‘Cartel Criminalisation and the Challenge of Definition: Insights from the UK Experience’. Drawing upon some of his research from his recently published monograph with Oxford University Press: The Criminalization of European Cartel Enforcement: Theoretical, Legal, and Practical Challenges, Dr Whelan critiqued the recent reform of the UK criminal Cartel Offence in order to provide insights into best practice concerning the design of a criminal cartel offence.

Dr Whelan’s hour-long lecture was attended by law students studying at Queen’s, as well as academic staff members. It was followed by a lively questions and answers session.
