Dr Pinar Akman presents her research at the University of Amsterdam

13 March 2014 |

Dr Pinar Akman presented her research on 11 March 2014 at the Amsterdam Center for Law and Economics (ACLE), University of Amsterdam.

Her talk considered how behavioural economics can inform the law in practice and focussed on the specific example of the use of behavioural economics to operationalise the prohibition of unfair pricing in EU competition law. Her article, co-authored with Dr Luke Garrod (Loughborough), which formed the basis of her talk is a rare example of insights from behavioural economics being used to operationalise a legal prohibition in the area of competition law that is otherwise without operational principles.
