14 April 2015 |

On April 8 at the AGM for the British and Irish Law, Education & and Technology Association (BILETA) Dr Basu was elected as the association’s new Vice-Chair.

British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association (BILETA) is Europe's largest and the most prestigious Association for IT and Law academics. It was formed in April 1986 to promote the use of technology in legal education throughout the UK and Ireland. The association is active in supporting the development and distribution of software, as well as supporting various research projects.

Dr Basu has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2005. Commenting on the new appointment he said:

“I first attended BILETA when I was a PhD student 15 years ago. It has already been a truly humbling, but wonderfully warm experience to encounter so many distinguished academics during this period of time. It's with trepidation, mingled with excitement, I accepted to become the Vice-Chair of BILETA at its 30th year. I am honoured that my peers have entrusted me with this responsibility.”
