The N8 Policing Innovation Forum delivers opportunities for police and universities to co-create research
The N8 Policing Research Partnership (N8 PRP) enables universities and policing partners to develop research and exchange knowledge activities that address key policing issues. The N8 PRP provides a regional hub for the north of England, generating research and knowledge exchange work of national relevance and international significance.
The N8 PRP recently delivered its first Innovation Forum focusing on Cybercrime. This brought together key policing and academics partners to identify key research areas, stimulate knowledge exchange and drive innovation.
Key speakers at the event included:
Sir Peter Fahy (Chief Constable, GMP),
Vanessa Smith (West Yorkshire Police Cyber Team),
John Parkinson (Exec Policing & Security Consultant),
Martin Tyley (KPMG),
Prof. David. S. Wall (Professor of Criminology, University of Leeds),
Prof. Nick Tilley (Professor of Security & Crime Science)
The forum combined keynote addresses, market place ideas exchange and live role play. The event was hugely successful and some fantastic and challenging ideas for collaborative research initiatives were delivered which will hopefully be explored over the coming year. More information about the research areas identified can be found in the full article along with video footage of Sir Peter Fahy on how Innovation will help to fight Cybercrime.
