Please tell us a bit about yourself and your background.
I am a student from Canada, and have already completed and undergraduate degree back home. I studied at Dalhousie University where I completed a major in International Development Studies, and a minor in Law. I have a great passion for environmental sciences. I hope to practice Environmental law in the future.
What motivated you to apply to study your chosen course and why did you chose Leeds?
I developed an interest in law during my undergraduate studies. I thought travelling abroad for my studies would be a great lifetime experience. England has a very similar legal system, and therefore it is easy to transfer my degree back to Canadian equivalency when I return. I chose Leeds because of its impeccable reputation for its legal programme, as well as great staff ratings, and high student satisfaction. Leeds is a great city with plenty to offer. The University of Leeds is a great place to meet new people, get a top notch education, and enjoy a new experience.
What do you think of your course, have there been any particular highlights for you?
I love the 2 year LLB programme! So far it has been very interesting and challenging. The professors are all very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The law society provides us students with many great events to get us involved, and to socialize with the professors and other students.
How would you describe the help and guidance provided by the staff within the School?
Simply put: pristine. There are so many available resources to help enhance your learning experience at Leeds. I frequently visit office hours, and have always come away with more than I needed!
Have you been involved in extra-curricular activities, such as societies, summer placements etc?
I currently volunteer for the Leeds Canal Trust Leeds and an a member of the University's baseball team.
