I have a Bachelors degree in Commerce as well as in Law and I have since pursued a taught postgraduate programme in International Corporate Law.
I belong to a business class family hailing from Western region of India called Ahmedabad, Gujarat. I have an open job offer in one of the best law firms in Gujarat. Although, I have not started work yet as I shall be joining in early January once I pass my Bar Council of India exam.
My motivation to study at Leeds
I was looking forward to a global exposure not just as an overall experience but also from the work front as well. Being an international course, the LLM has opened new horizons for me at the professional level, especially in the corporate field.
My experience at the University of Leeds was one of the most memorable ones I’ve had. I had the time of my life.
For me, it was home away from home. One of the best parts of studying in the university is the materials that are availed to us, the facilities provided to us for making the studying part easy and hassle free; and last but not least the support provided by our tutors and professors.
The excellent support was not only provided by the professors and tutors but also the non-academic staff. All the staff have been patient and have given the best counselling and aid they could provide in order to satisfy our queries and requirements.
They have always been available and are just an email away.
I have a very high regard for this course. It is one of the best courses in today’s growing economy and also gives me an advantage of having an international degree and practicing it anywhere in the world.
The University itself is like a small town. It has everything right from the convenience stores to clubs, libraries to sports and a world-class gym.
The facilities provided in the libraries are just so easy to access and at the same time have taken into consideration the smallest needs of a student.
Its not just the library, but also the sports centre (the Edge); no sports centre in Leeds can beat this one!
Leeds is a student’s city. The easy commute to various places earns the brownie points. It is a perfect city for a student to live in. It is safe and has access to all the things that a good city needs; simply perfect.
I already have a job offer in one of the best law firms of my state. And also, I am keen on applying to other top law firms in India outside my state and hopeful for the same as I have an extra edge of having an international degree which enhances my curriculum vitae.
The overall Leeds’ experience has helped me in becoming more confident and has also given me the courage to approach any firm with dignity as I have a ‘University of Leeds’ tag attached to my achievements.
