Please tell us a bit about yourself and your background.

I am a confident and optimistic person and would describe myself as sociable and cheerful. In my leisure time I hang out with friends, go to the gym, read books and, when I have the opportunity to, travel. I have two siblings with are a close with. I have a brother who is older and a sister who is younger. Hopefully she will join me in Leeds next September.

What motivated you to apply to study your chosen course and why did you chose Leeds?

Studying law was my parents’ idea and it has turned out to be a very good choice. It meant I could keep up my interests in theory, literature and philosophy and study a course relying on my writing and communication skills. What also attracted me to the field of law was the prestige and class acquired by lawyers and the great opportunities that are present in the field.

I chose to study at Leeds because of its great reputation as a member of the prestigious Russell Group. Also I already knew some people had graduated from here and they strongly recommended the university.

What do you think of your course, have there been any particular highlights for you?

I really believe that I am studying a very interesting and challenging course. I am now in the third year of my course and it has helped me to improve myself both academically and personally. Studying law has enlarged my knowledge across a wide range of areas, boosted my confidence and strengthened my personality. It has developed my critical thinking as well as express myself clearly and justifiably to a great extent.

How would you describe the help and guidance provided by the staff within the School of Law?

The teaching staff of the school is comprised of the right professionals for each course, task and exercise. They are always willing to offer their assistance to us at any time. Simply, I would describe the teaching staff as helpful, caring and available for the students.

How would you describe the facilities at the University?

The University provides plenty of high quality facilities that allow students to have a balanced and convenient life.

Have you been involved in extra-curricular activities, such as societies, summer placements etc? How have these enhanced your experience at the university?

I recently completed an internship in the Litigation & ADR Department of Marios Hartsiotis legal firm. I gained knowledge in hearing and answering properly as a Professional Lawyer. This experience has greatly improved my speaking and presentation skills because I attended trials in the court of Limassol. It will help me significantly in future presentations during the remainder of my course as well as a young Graduate Lawyer after.
