I am from Islamabad in Pakistan. Before coming to Leeds I completed an MBA from Bahria University Islamabad, and a BBA from Air University in Islamabad.
I have always been interested in Law since high school, but I was not able to study law at that time.
When I matured, I realised that I had the ambition and passion to study law. I am doing the 2 year LLB here at the School of Law at the University of Leeds and I’d like to become a commercial Barrister so that I can also utilize my business education experience.
The 2 year LLB is a challenging degree because you have to cover everything in two years rather than three and first year results counts towards your academic standing; however it is a challenge worth taking for the individuals who are passionate about a professional career in law.
The learning facilities in the School of Law and at the university are great. You can contact your tutors at their office hours and they are always willing to support to you. The university also has a wonderful library with great variety of books, especially in law.
Although this course is challenging, if you are ready to face a challenge then Leeds School of Law should be your first choice!
Outside of study
There are various activities for students outside their studies, for example pro bono work, mooting and negotiation. I am involved in mooting which really helps to improve my communication skills and confidence.
I was also ambassador for the School of Law this year, where I had conducted various campus tours, this was a great opportunity to share my experience with prospective students and their parents.
