Please tell us about yourself, your background, etc?

I hold a Bachelor of Law from Hanoi Law University. After graduating from university I worked as a trainee lawyer at a regional law firm for 2 and half years.

What made you want to apply to your course and to Leeds?

It was an ideal opportunity for me to obtain in-depth knowledge in Intellectual Property law regime in a European and International context, and to expose myself to the latest developments in IP fields worldwide.

In addition, the University of Leeds is a prestigious university for its academic contributions. I believe that academic knowledge and practical skills acquired from the university will make substantial progress for my career development.

What makes you passionate about your area of study?

My passion stems from the belief that protecting Intellectual Property Rights is one of the most essential requirements for my country to develop advanced technology industries, and to encourage creativity and innovation among citizens. The motivation also comes from my zeal to reach a higher level in the legal profession.

What do you think of your course so far?

I enjoy all the core modules I have studied and look forward to working on my dissertation topic, which is closely related to my working area and will be beneficial for further research in the future.

What would you say about the learning facilities in the School and at the University in general?

The school facilities are amazing, we have all we need and it's easily accessible.

What would you say about Leeds as a city?

Leeds is perfect place for students as it has so many things to offer: Suitable city size, all facilities, shopping centres, vibrant atmosphere, friendly people etc

What do you like to do outside of studying?

Outside of studying, I love travelling around Leeds, which is a beautiful area in UK. I also enjoy socializing with international students and getting to know different cultures.

What would you say to anyone thinking of applying to your course?

The course offers everything that an IP law student would need for further career development.

What do you plan to do once you’ve finished your course?

Once I finish my course, I’ll come back to my country and work as an IP lawyer.
