I'm originally Ghanaian but moved to South Africa when I was 15. That is where I stayed until I moved to Leeds last year to do my Masters degree Law. At the moment, I'm looking for a job as a legal or company secretary.
Why I applied to Leeds
The fact that the University of Leeds had a large number of international students was a big motivation for me to come here. The again, there is no doubting the fact that the University is one of the best universities in the United Kingdom and it is an honour to say to anyone that I studied here.
Honestly speaking, my time in Leeds was spent with my close circle of friends, as I am quite a shy person. With that said, Leeds is a great way to meet people and that is how I met some of my lifelong friends. I loved going for my seminars because it was a time to interact with others.
I loved my course. It may not have been easy but I enjoyed myself nevertheless because the modules were interesting and the lecturers were always ready to help.
The staff in the School of Law are the best one could ever hope for. They were always willing and ever ready to help. They always have a smile on their face and are very welcoming.
The University has great facilities, there is no book on will need in their studies that one will not find in the library. Also, there are 24-hour computer clusters which make it easy for anyone to have their work done on time!
The City of Leeds
From what I saw of Leeds I can safely say it is a nice city with a welcoming atmosphere about it. No matter where you are from, you will always see a friendly smile in the crowd and will always feel at home.
I would like to work with a company in the future and that is what I'm waiting for at the moment. Being in Leeds has taught me to be patient and know that no matter what happens I will make it. I never thought I would finish my degree but Leeds gave me hope and I did it.
