My research aims to discuss Article 12 of the CRPD and its influence on China's adult guardianship reform.

It firstly tries to provide a comprehensive understanding of Article 12. And main focuses will be put on the concept of equality and legal personhood.

Then, it will discuss Article 12 in the context of China. Special attention will be paid to the legal culture of China and its adult guardianship mechanism.

There will be a detailed review of China's legislations on guardianship and legal capacity. Empirical study will be conducted in the discussion of cultural relativism.
