I felt that the tutors were approachable and were always there to book appointments with to discuss any areas of the course that I was having difficulty with. The University as a whole offers so much. The library and online legal resources are excellent and offers the opportunity to develop research skills.

I am now the Administrative Court Office Lawyer for Wales. The Administrative Court is a section of the High Court that deals with challenges to the decisions of public bodies (such as Government Departments or Local Authorities).

From 2007 to 2010 I worked as an antitrust attorney in Anglo-Saxon law firms. In late 2010 I was appointed case-handler at the French Competition Authority. I currently deal with cartels and abuse of dominance cases.

I think I have developed far more than I would have if I had stayed in Leeds for my third year. Going abroad breaks up your degree and allows a new perspective both academically and personally. Also, it is a big plus point on your C.V.

I chose Leeds for a number of reasons - I had always wanted to move to the north of England and for this course Leeds was highly rated. Leeds is the largest financial centre outside London and that offered a lot of exposure to the professional world while still studying.

I have successfully secured a position with the renowned American NGO, the International Justice Mission (IJM). With the hindsight of eventually working for an International Non-Governmental Organization, I will be serving as the legal fellow for IJM’s Kolkata office where I will help their legal team to prosecute sex traffickers.

The amount of help and guidance given by the staff within the University is unquestionable. Support was felt throughout my career at the University at all times. Since graduating from the LLM I continue to use the knowledge and experience gained in my current role. The White Paper ‘Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS’ has triggered a major re-design of the way information is used in the NHS and the knowledge and experience I gained from the LLM has directly inputted to that. I enjoyed the course so much that I am considering pursuing a PhD in Cyberlaw.
