School of Law

Undergraduates

The School of Law at Leeds is recognised as one of the leading UK law schools.

Situated in the legal powerhouse of Leeds, the School of Law offers four programmes with a route to 'qualifying law degree' status.

Law and Accounting and Law and Management have both a BA path and an LLB path. This means you can choose, at the end of your second year, to specialise in law and gain a qualifying law degree, or you can pursue a route that maintains a more equal balance between the two disciplines.

Our law courses offer a spectrum of traditional and unique legal modules, ranging from torts and criminal law to environmental and animal law.

We also offer a unique BA in Criminal Justice and Criminology, an innovative and interdisciplinary programme that examines crime, criminals, deviance and justice.

Our location

Located on the University's 140 acre campus, our school is less than half a mile from Leeds city centre and the surrounding area on campus is free from through-traffic.

As an undergraduate, maybe living away from home for the first time, the university campus provides a wealth of services and facilities to help you find your feet. Boasting a health and counselling service, a sports centre, a bookshop and a travel agency, you can find banks, restaurants, cafes, bars, clothes shops and a hairdresser on site.

The Students' Union also offers excellent welfare services, as well as recreational and social facilities. There are also numerous student-run sports clubs and societies that cover a variety of cultural, social and political activities. Off-campus shops, restaurants, pubs and entertainment are also within easy reach.

In addition, the University has excellent resources, including new computing facilities and an internationally-renowned library that holds 2.6 million books and 9,000 periodicals. As a first year undergraduate, we also guarantee you a place in university accommodation so long as you apply before the 1 July deadline, and we provide special amenities for students with disabilities.
