The School of Law fosters and promotes research in all major fields of legal study.
All year round we run lively programmes of research seminars, lectures, workshops and colloquia, host visiting scholars and work with policy makers.

Many of our academic staff are also involved in the Leeds Social Science Institute which fosters interdisciplinary research collaborations and provides training for our postgraduate researchers.
In addition the N8 Policing Research Partnership is led from the School. This cross-instituational hub for research and innovation is a dynamic Northern Powerhouse in policing research and knowledge exchange which facilitates collaborations between universities, PCCs, police forces and partners across the north of England.
The School of Law welcomes visiting scholars under two schemes. Joining us as either a liberty fellow or visiting scholar you will receive a warm welcome from our academic and research community.
