Consumer Protection in Europe: theory and practice

This duo-colloquium will explore the concept of Consumer Protection in Europe in the context of the proposed new Consumer Rights Directive, efforts to consolidate the consumer acquis and proposals for a Common Frame of Reference.
It is hosted by the Centre for European Law and Legal Studies at Leeds University, within the framework of the Leeds' Marie Curie Project 'Credit and Debt: protecting the vulnerable in Europe'. It is held in association with the Institute of Commercial and Corporate Law at Durham University.

Delegate packages are now available. Packages include all documentation, catering, a drinks reception and a conference dinner. Packages can be booked with or without accommodation.
Delegates taking the all-inclusive package will be accommodated at the city-centre Radisson SAS Hotel on 15 and 16 December 2009. The hotel is located fifteen minutes by foot from University House.
Delegates may take advantage of a 20 per cent 'earlybird discount' for all rates on bookings made before 1 November 2009. Unfortunately, spaces are limited and all-inclusive packages will be available until 30 November 2009.
