School of Law

Study Abroad

At the School of Law, you can further develop your intellectual horizons by taking part in the European ERASMUS programme, or an international Study Abroad programme with one of our partner universities.

If you wish to study abroad, you will need to apply at the beginning of your second year. Whilst the marks you obtain for modules studied during your year abroad do not count towards your degree classification, you must achieve a 'pass' to be able to continue into your final year. Your final degree award title will reflect the year abroad.

Study abroad all over the world

The University of Leeds currently has study abroad links with the universities all over the world. The School of Law current sends students to universities to North America, Australasia and Europe.

Universities in most countries where English is not an official language require a working knowledge of their language at A-level standard, but some do conduct teaching in English.

Legal employers acknowledge the extra dimension offered by the year abroad. Leeds students who have participated in the Study Abroad scheme have an excellent track record in obtaining training contracts with top firms.
